When a board-topper like Rod Moore slides to slot 195, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If Collins pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Bottom line, with Colston Loveland leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Nice patience on Colston Loveland, who had no business lasting to the 35th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Nic Scourton at Round 2, Pick 4 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Mason Graham in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Oscar Delp, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Hunter Wohler at slot 99 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Alfred Collins at pick 131 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Rod Moore at the 195th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
