Some picks age like wine; Chris Tyree at Round 7, Pick 5 will need to, sitting 58 spots clear of his grade.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Landing Egbuka that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.17 · Pick 17 · Will Campbell · OT · rank 6
In slot 17 they get a cornerstone up front, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
R1.30 · Pick 30 · Malaki Starks · S · rank 16
In No. 30 they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Emery Jones · OT · rank 33
Emery Jones in pick 35 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 15
Emeka Egbuka in Round 2, Pick 13 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Xavier Nwankpa · S · rank 51
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Nwankpa. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Mitchell Evans · TE · rank 48
They barely believed it either: Mitchell Evans still on the board at the 69th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.3 · Pick 99 · Aireontae Ersery · OT · rank 125
Aireontae Ersery in pick No. 99 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.18 · Pick 114 · Alfred Collins · DL · rank 158
They reached into another round for Alfred Collins, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.3 · Pick 131 · Andrew Mukuba · S · rank 150
A real head-scratcher, Andrew Mukuba in slot 131 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.5 · Pick 133 · Jasheen Davis · DL-EDGE · rank 162
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jasheen Davis this early at the 133rd overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.18 · Pick 178 · Tahj Brooks · RB · rank 172
They did well to land Tahj Brooks in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.3 · Pick 195 · CJ Dippre · TE · rank 199
CJ Dippre at the 195th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.5 · Pick 197 · Chris Tyree · WR · rank 255
They talked themselves into Chris Tyree at No. 197, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
