The war room fell hard for Andrew Mukuba, and it showed at Round 4, Pick 7: 50 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Ayomanor. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Emery Jones at pick No. 34, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Value with a capital V on Abdul Carter in the 39th pick, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They talked themselves into Earnest Greene III at the 66th overall pick, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Bryson Nesbit at slot 90 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Elic Ayomanor at slot 98 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Andrew Mukuba at the 103rd pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Alfred Collins. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Jaheim Oatis in No. 194, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
