This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tre Harris, the No. 44 name on the board, stolen at the 194th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The cost of the Ersery reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Jakobi Meyers pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 7 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They barely believed it either: Travis Hunter still on the board at pick 34. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Somehow Quinn Ewers was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 3, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Colston Loveland at No. 39 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Quinshon Judkins all the way to the 66th pick, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Kenneth Grant at the 71st overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Aireontae Ersery at slot 98 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They robbed the room for Ashton Gillotte here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Earnest Greene III in the 130th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 194 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
