You can hear the double-takes from here. The Patriots took CJ Daniels at pick 117, roughly 64 spots before his name belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Fair-plus on Kenneth Grant, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A quiet steal in the Round 2 slot: Tyleik Williams for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Sonny Styles at No. 66 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
