The war room fell hard for Lorenzo Styles Jr., and it showed at the 194th pick: 209 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Omarion Hampton at slot 34 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Quincy Riley in the 66th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Nick Emmanwori well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A big swing on CJ Daniels at the 113th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Oscar Delp at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Lorenzo Styles Jr. in pick 194 says they were not listening. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
