Thirty-one other rooms let Hunter Wohler slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at pick 131. Highway robbery.
Every board in the league had Sanders lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 35 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Elic Ayomanor at the Round 3 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Earnest Greene III at the 69th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A real head-scratcher, Raheim Sanders in Round 4, Pick 3 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Hunter Wohler at No. 131 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tahj Brooks at slot 133 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They reached into another round for Chris Tyree, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
