When a board-topper like Quinshon Judkins slides to the Round 4 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.

Somehow Malaki Starks was still sitting there in pick No. 34, and they pounced on premier safety value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tight end of that caliber at slot 85 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Quinshon Judkins all the way to No. 98, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Sonny Styles still on the board at the 130th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
