You build a draft on nights like this. Quinshon Judkins had no business being available in the Round 5 slot, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The veteran additions, Joe Alt chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In the end it comes back to Travis Hunter, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
A cornerback of that caliber at the 34th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Malaki Starks at slot 66 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Colston Loveland still on the board at pick 78. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quinshon Judkins at the 130th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
