Some picks age like wine; Josiah Ezirim at No. 193 will need to, sitting 99 spots clear of his grade.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 10th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Ladd McConkey at slot 34 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A big swing on Christian Mahogany at the 68th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Jaylen Wright at par in Round 3, Pick 8, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Johnny Wilson in No. 103 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Christian Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ryan Flournoy at pick 180 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They talked themselves into Josiah Ezirim at slot 193, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A slide stopped in No. 231, with Jordan Magee worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
