You build a draft on nights like this. Audric Estime had no business being available in No. 180, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Mahogany reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Malik Nabers at Round 1, Pick 7 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Jackson Powers-Johnson in No. 34, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy little value on Bo Nix in pick 38, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Christian Mahogany at the 68th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. in pick No. 103 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Elijah Jones in slot 137; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They barely believed it either: Audric Estime still on the board at the 180th pick. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Nathan Thomas at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They did well to land Bub Means in pick 231, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
