Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

The Dolphins torched the value chart for Aidan Hubbard, taking him 101 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Haulcy value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.8 · Pick 40 · Brandon Cisse · CB · rank 36
Brandon Cisse at No. 40 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A minor itch, scratched.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Blake Miller · OT · rank 45
Blake Miller at pick 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · A.J. Haulcy · S · rank 50
Circle this one: A.J. Haulcy at the 75th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.29 · Pick 93 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 156
They reached into another round for Drew Allar, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.30 · Pick 94 · Mason Reiger · LB-EDGE · rank 147
They talked themselves into Mason Reiger at Round 3, Pick 30, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · Bryce Lance · WR · rank 90
A reasonable price with a little left over, Bryce Lance in slot 95. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Max Llewellyn · DE-EDGE · rank 153
A wild overpay on Max Llewellyn in Round 4, Pick 16, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · Quintayvious Hutchins · DE-EDGE · rank 199
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Quintayvious Hutchins. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.11 · Pick 227 · Dane Key · WR · rank 231
They took Dane Key at par in the 227th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.13 · Pick 229 · John Michael Gyllenborg · TE · rank 226
They did well to land John Michael Gyllenborg in No. 229, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.16 · Pick 232 · Robert Spears-Jennings · S · rank 257
Robert Spears-Jennings at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Jack Kelly · LB · rank 256
Jack Kelly at slot 238 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.41 · Pick 257 · Aidan Hubbard · DE-EDGE · rank 358
Value said wait; Aidan Hubbard in pick 257 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
