Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Dolphins never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
That Lassiter pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Every board in the league had Cohen lower, and that gap is the story. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Darius Robinson at pick No. 40 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kamari Lassiter at slot 55 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
By-the-book stuff, Patrick Paul at Round 3, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Cade Stover in the 78th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They went early on Javion Cohen in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
No drama and no debate, Fabien Lovett went about where he belonged in No. 184. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Curtis Jacobs in the 198th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value with a capital V on Tayvion Robinson in pick 241, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
