The Patriots let Zvada fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Dominic Zvada, Round 7, Pick 4, roughly 125 picks past where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The cost of the Henderson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A conviction pick on Will Campbell at No. 6 that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in the Round 2 slot: Emeka Egbuka for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They went early on Benjamin Morrison in the 38th pick, and the value did not follow. A minor need, but a need all the same.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach pick No. 69 and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Tez Johnson in pick 81 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board fumbled TreVeyon Henderson all the way to slot 104, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Danny Stutsman at Round 4, Pick 16 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Hayden Conner at the 143rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Xzavier Henderson this early at slot 216. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Carson Schwesinger at pick No. 217 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Dominic Zvada in pick 220 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Corey Kiner in the 238th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
