The Commanders spent real capital to be 79 picks early on RJ Harvey, and the board is going to hold them to it. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Ratledge at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 29 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Armand Membou in the 61st pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Tate Ratledge in pick 79 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
David Walker in No. 146 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A big swing on Nohl Williams at Round 6, Pick 28, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for RJ Harvey. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Bryson Nesbit in pick 247; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
