Somebody in Round 3, Pick 15 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Falcons sat still while Caleb Banks, the No. 42 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Olaivavega Ioane in slot 48, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Caleb Banks in the 79th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Devin Moore at Round 4, Pick 22 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Jeff Caldwell in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Cameron Ball at the 231st overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
