Call it larceny. Elic Ayomanor sat on the board until slot 170, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Reed proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 12 they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
The board had Tate Ratledge higher than Round 2, Pick 12, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Devin Neal in the 148th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.

They paid a round early for Jalen Travis in the 248th pick, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
