The Chiefs clearly saw something nobody else did in Gabe Hall, taking him 32 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at slot 64 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Blake Fisher in pick No. 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for James Williams in Round 4, Pick 31, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A tidy little value on Jaylen Wright in No. 161, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy bit of business in the 171st pick, where LaDarius Henderson graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They talked themselves into Gabe Hall at No. 175, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jawhar Jordan in pick 209 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, Walter Rouse went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 32. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
