Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for McCaffrey: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Luke McCaffrey slide 27 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Brooks pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 13
In the 25th pick they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jonathon Brooks · RB · rank 60
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jonathon Brooks in the Round 2 slot, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 50
Fair-plus on Graham Barton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 76
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Christian Haynes at Round 3, Pick 25 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 81
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mike Sainristil at slot 91. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Mohamed Kamara · DL-EDGE · rank 117
A tidy bit of business in pick 126, where Mohamed Kamara graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 141
Somehow Luke McCaffrey was still sitting there in No. 168, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It fills a real need, too.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Ethan Driskell · OT · rank 186
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ethan Driskell in pick No. 203. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Erick All · TE · rank 215
Erick All at pick No. 216 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Joshua Cephus · WR · rank 239
A reasonable price with a little left over, Joshua Cephus in the 243rd pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Demani Richardson · S · rank 246
A clean, defensible pick in Round 7, Pick 31 with a little surplus value in Demani Richardson. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
