The phones were a trap the Cowboys kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Wright reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Beebe falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
