They are betting Whittington proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In No. 9 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 29th pick they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
They robbed the room for Arvell Reese here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Bryce Lance at the 74th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
De'Zhaun Stribling at Round 4, Pick 9 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
You do not let a tight end like Jack Endries reach slot 148 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Louis Moore at pick 169 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
