The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Mason Taylor fell into pick No. 133. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Dellinger reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Tate Ratledge still on the board at pick 64. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jihaad Campbell in the 68th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Andrew Mukuba at slot 96 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Taking Mason Taylor in No. 133 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reach on Garrett Dellinger in Round 7, Pick 41; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
