The Chiefs torched the value chart for Jarquez Hunter, taking him 28 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Landing Revel Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get juice off the edge, and a steal at that.
A premium they did not need to pay, Tory Horton a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Shavon Revel Jr. at the 69th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They paid sticker price for Bear Alexander in Round 3, Pick 32, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A conviction pick on Nick Emmanwori at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. A minor itch, scratched.
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in the 160th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jimmy Horn Jr. at Round 7, Pick 1 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A wild overpay on Jarquez Hunter in the 224th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
