Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Eagles, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Clark to cover a lot of smaller sins.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
In pick No. 14 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Troy Franklin at Round 2, Pick 12 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at No. 50 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 59th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Brandon Dorlus at pick 68 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nice patience on Malachi Corley, who had no business lasting to the 98th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Blake Fisher in the 103rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in No. 112, with Bucky Irving worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nothing to complain about; Javon Foster went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Kris Abrams-Draine higher than the Round 5 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Beaux Limmer at par in the 140th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ty'Ron Hopper in slot 156 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Fair-plus on Malik Washington, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick No. 166 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jahdae Barron in the 177th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Ben Bywater at the Round 6 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Jase McClellan is a better player than Round 7, Pick 28 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Taking De'Corian Clark in slot 252 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
