When a board-topper like Isaiah Williams slides to the 233rd pick, you do not overthink it, and the Cowboys did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
If Sundell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Zach Frazier at pick 56 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at par in Round 3, Pick 24, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They barely believed it either: Nehemiah Pritchett still on the board at No. 174. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jalen Sundell at pick No. 216 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a wide receiver like Isaiah Williams reach the 233rd pick and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nice patience on Trevin Wallace, who had no business lasting to the 244th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
