Thirty-one other rooms let Kendrick Law slide, and the Rams were the ones holding the card at pick No. 232. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Every board in the league had Spears-Jennings lower, and that gap is the story. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle. Need was not the driver here.
D'Angelo Ponds at Round 2, Pick 29 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
No drama and no debate, Sam Roush went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Robert Spears-Jennings well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 232 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fa'alili Fa'amoe at slot 251 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Thaddeus Dixon in pick No. 252 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
