The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Nehemiah Pritchett, Round 6, Pick 28, roughly 61 picks past where he belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Bishop pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, running back and other spots still on the board.
They will need Tate to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Marvin Harrison Jr. in the 25th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Olumuyiwa Fashanu at slot 41 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Circle this one: Tyler Nubin at pick 57 is a fall that decides a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Christian Haynes in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Cam Hart at Round 4, Pick 25 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Cole Bishop at safety with quarterback, running back and other spots open.
They barely believed it either: Nehemiah Pritchett still on the board at pick No. 203. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Omar Speights in No. 217, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They let Braiden McGregor come to them and pounced at pick 219. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Demorie Tate at No. 246 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
