The Pierce Quick selection is the head-turner. The Dolphins reached 164 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a blindside protector, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Troy Franklin in No. 53 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
