The Dolphins spent real capital to be 24 picks early on Mohamed Kamara, and the board is going to hold them to it. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Troy Fautanu went about where he belonged in the 36th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Jackson Powers-Johnson at No. 56 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They talked themselves into Mohamed Kamara at pick No. 102, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Layden Robinson in Round 5, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 202 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jeremy James at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
