The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Evan Anderson, taking him 122 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Vidal.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reach on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 56; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Braelon Allen this early at pick 87. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
