You could see the war room lean forward. Curtis Jacobs at the 226th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They will need Glaze to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Troy Franklin slid further than he should have, and the 37th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Quinyon Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 17 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy bit of business in slot 105, where Zak Zinter graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Delmar Glaze in No. 142, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Braelon Allen at the 183rd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
You do not let a linebacker like Jaylan Ford reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. A minor itch, scratched.
