The Giants spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They are betting Henderson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kingsley Suamataia. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Keon Coleman at pick 47 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mike Sainristil at Round 2, Pick 25 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid a round early for Brandon Dorlus in the 70th pick, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They went early on Gabriel Murphy in pick No. 74, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Blake Corum at slot 94. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Khristian Boyd at No. 140 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The roster fit checks out.
A conviction pick on Elijah Jones at slot 185 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, LaDarius Henderson well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
