You could see the war room lean forward. Ja'Quinden Jackson at Round 6, Pick 11 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Kight has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
In pick No. 11 they get a featured back, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 30
The board fumbled Tate Ratledge all the way to slot 63, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.8 · Pick 72 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 38
They will replay T.J. Sanders at No. 72 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Isaiah Bond · WR · rank 35
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Bond at pick 73 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.31 · Pick 132 · Jay Higgins · LB · rank 61
Taking Jay Higgins in Round 4, Pick 31 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.11 · Pick 149 · Deone Walker · DT · rank 131
Deone Walker at the 149th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Parker Brailsford · C · rank 135
They barely believed it either: Parker Brailsford still on the board at the Round 5 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Jaeden Roberts · OG · rank 149
Somehow Jaeden Roberts was still sitting there in the 170th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Simeon Barrow Jr. · DL · rank 158
A slide stopped in pick 171, with Simeon Barrow Jr. worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Ja'Quinden Jackson · RB · rank 110
You do not let a running back like Ja'Quinden Jackson reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Amari Kight · OT · rank 242
Amari Kight at the 209th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
