Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Danny Stutsman got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at pick 152. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If Membou pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 17 they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Armand Membou at slot 48 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Carson Beck at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid a round early for Rylie Mills in Round 4, Pick 16, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Danny Stutsman at the 152nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
