The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Shedeur Sanders, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Winston Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They are betting Morrison proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Benjamin Morrison in pick No. 37 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Dylan Sampson still on the board at Round 3, Pick 4. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Royals at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 106 with a little surplus value in Ajani Cornelius. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Kevin Winston Jr. all the way to the 142nd pick, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
