The Packers put a flag in the ground for Kimani Vidal, 51 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The All steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Nubin in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Payton Wilson in No. 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Dominick Puni at the 88th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy little value on Jonah Elliss in pick No. 91, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Jones at slot 126, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Cody Schrader in No. 169; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Kimani Vidal, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the 219th overall pick, with Erick All worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
