You build a draft on nights like this. Mason Taylor had no business being available in pick 132, and the Chiefs did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in the Round 2 slot: Trey Amos for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Isaiah Bond in pick No. 66 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
TreVeyon Henderson at No. 95 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Mason Taylor in the 132nd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Craig Woodson at the 256th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
