This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 60 name on the board, stolen at Round 5, Pick 1.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Desmond King II deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Nick Emmanwori and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an enforcer at safety, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kaleb Johnson in the 97th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
TreVeyon Henderson at No. 138 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Smael Mondon Jr. was still sitting there in pick No. 159, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A tight end of that caliber at the 241st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
