Nobody else had Dylan McMahon anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Patriots did, by 100 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 14th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Good price on Adonai Mitchell in slot 34, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Cade Stover at pick 68 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cam Hart in No. 103. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A premium they did not need to pay, Johnny Wilson a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Brandon Coleman. The roster fit checks out.
Jawhar Jordan at Round 6, Pick 5 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A real head-scratcher, Dylan McMahon in the 193rd overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached into another round for Jalen Coker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
