The tape said wait; the Browns did not. Bryce Foster went at No. 206, a good 54 picks before the board was ready. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Getting Graves where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In pick 24 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Zion Young at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Keionte Scott at No. 70 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Austin Barber went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 7. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A real head-scratcher, Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick No. 146 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Eric Rivers in the 149th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A wild overpay on Bryce Foster in pick No. 206, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
