There is reaching, and then there is Logan Fano at Round 5, Pick 29. The Chiefs jumped the board by 56 and dared it to prove them wrong.
Landing Stribling that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
If Mansoor Delane and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 9 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
By-the-book stuff, Caleb Lomu at the 29th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They went early on Lee Hunter in pick No. 40, and the value did not follow. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Sam Roush in the 74th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Max Klare in pick 93 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
De'Zhaun Stribling at Round 5, Pick 5 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Tacario Davis was still sitting there in pick No. 148, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Logan Fano at No. 169 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
