Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Cardinals: C.

Nobody else had Luke Lachey anywhere near Round 1, Pick 8. The Cardinals did, by 97 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Styles. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
They reached into another round for Luke Lachey, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They talked themselves into Earnest Greene III at slot 40, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Conner Weigman in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
TJ Ferguson in pick 104 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Somehow Garrett Nussmeier was still sitting there in pick No. 136, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a safety like Sonny Styles reach Round 6, Pick 8 and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Phil Mafah in pick No. 200 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
