They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Zion Logue, 51 picks early at the 190th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 24 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach on Tyler Davis in pick No. 87; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylan Ford in slot 124, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A big swing on Zion Logue at No. 190, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Omar Speights in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Ja'Had Carter in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They reached into another round for Desmond Evans, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
