You could see the war room lean forward. Quinshon Judkins at the 203rd pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
They are betting Zuhn III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 29 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jayden Higgins a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Fair-plus on Kyle Kennard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Trey Zuhn III in pick No. 146 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quinshon Judkins in the 203rd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Jaishawn Barham still on the board at Round 7, Pick 20. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A wild overpay on Joey Slackman in No. 247, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
