The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and TreVeyon Henderson fell into the Round 5 slot.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Tyler Booker in No. 61 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Kaleb Johnson at pick No. 79 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
TreVeyon Henderson at pick 146 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
