The rest of the league will want that one back. Jack Kiser tumbling to the Commanders in pick 238 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 29 they get a security blanket over the middle, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Aireontae Ersery, who had no business lasting to the 61st pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 79, where Dylan Sampson graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Ajani Cornelius at pick 148 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Jason Marshall Jr. all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jack Kiser at slot 238 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Ja'Corey Brooks in Round 7, Pick 32, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
