The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
Davis at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Davis pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Davis in pick No. 108 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nice patience on Elijah Jones, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 29. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Javion Cohen at pick 157 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jaheim Bell at slot 167 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Davis at the 177th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy little value on Nathan Thomas in the Round 7 slot, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
