It is the swing that defines the weekend: RJ Harvey in Round 3, Pick 33, a good 73 spots before the room expected him. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
The Mullings steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 24 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A real need, handled.
Maxwell Hairston slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They reached a country mile for RJ Harvey at slot 97, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
Donovan Jackson at pick 109 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reach for Jonah Monheim in the 140th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cobee Bryant at the 146th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Kalel Mullings at pick No. 161 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
