Some picks age like wine; Evan Anderson at the 216th pick will need to, sitting 66 spots clear of his grade. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Devonshire. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Junior Colson in No. 56 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A clean, defensible pick in the 87th pick with a little surplus value in Blake Corum. A need, and now a little less of one.
Anthony Gould in Round 5, Pick 38 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Evan Anderson in slot 216, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Kendall Milton at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; M.J. Devonshire at No. 244 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
