They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Tory Horton, 87 picks early at pick 3. The final tally is a middling C.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They went 2 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a true top target, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
They took Johnny Wilson at par in No. 35, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid a round early for Braelon Allen in Round 2, Pick 25, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Will Shipley well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
MarShawn Lloyd in pick 103 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Miyan Williams at the 140th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jase McClellan at pick No. 181 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
